Eric's Story

Eric Peterson is a vibrant 63-year-old who has spent his entire life in Kolkata, India. A true lover of music, Eric's passion for playing various instruments has been a defining feature of his life, with the guitar being his favorite. His melodies have brought joy and comfort to countless people. An active member of his local church, Eric has always been a pillar of support within his community. He has worked his whole life as a teacher, and has inspired his students to grow and learn throughout his career. Eric has always supported his family, by being a devote son who lovingly took care of his mother all her life, supporting his brothers and sisters through their joys and sorrows as well as his neices, nephews and their families. 

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Eric was stood down from his job, and his salary was drastically slashed. This financial strain quickly depleted his life savings, forcing him to cancel his health insurance. 

In October 2022, Eric's was diagnosed with a Kidney tumor which needed to be urgently removed. The kidney surgery further hindered his ability to secure new health insurance coverage. He underwent surgery to have the tumor removed and followed up with regular checkups every three months.

However, despite these diligent efforts, his doctor failed to inform him that the tumor was malignant upon removal. This oversight allowed the cancer to be left untreated and spread, resulting in a diagnosis of Stage 4 Kidney Cancer in 2024. This devastating news has been a heavy burden for Eric and his loved ones.

Despite these immense challenges, Eric's resilience and positive spirit continue to shine through. Now, more than ever, Eric needs the support and generosity of others to help cover the costs of his essential treatment.
